Hello!

I'm Chris Janda, founder of Inspire DSM Insurance in Des Moines, Iowa. My story starts with my father, a remarkable man born in a German refugee camp after World War II, fleeing communism with his family. They settled on Chicago's South Side, where he and his twin brother overcame hardship, graduating high school at 15—my father ranking second in his class, just behind his brother. He earned a doctorate in pharmacy, but his passion for hands-on patient care led him to the U.S. Air Force, which funded his medical training to become a family practitioner.

We moved often—Alaska, Texas, South Dakota, Michigan—where my father built a thriving practice, only to be bogged down by administrative burdens. He later joined a small hospital in Illinois before finding his true home in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, in 1994. There, under UnityPoint, he became one of Iowa's busiest doctors, so dedicated that three physicians were needed to handle his patient load when he retired. Even in retirement, he served at a nonprofit, Helping Hands, never stopping his mission to care for others.
